John’s experience in both public and private practice encompasses all phases of litigation, from the pleading stages through trial and appeal. His past representations include contractual disputes, securities actions, tort actions, receivership and bankruptcy proceedings, and numerous state and federal government investigations. He has represented commercial clients in a variety of industries, including computer chip manufacturing, telecommunications, energy, and many others.
John began his practice at Jones Day in 2008. In 2011, he transitioned to the Office of the Attorney General, where he worked on high-profile litigation for the State of Texas. While working for the Attorney General, John defended the State in civil rights actions and assisted in obtaining an emergency stay from the United States Supreme Court. Prior to law school, John worked as the Chief Financial Officer of the catalog company Wisteria. He joined Deary Ray in 2013.
